00 Salary/yearJob ShiftDayDescriptionWe are looking for a Continuous Improvement Leader to develop and implement CI strategies on our manufacturing floor.
The right candidate will evaluate existing processes and identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and cost-savings measures.
Whereas this role has no direct reports, it manages the strategic implementation of the Watson Production System (WPS) and coaches team members on the WPS process and application.
What you'll do Implement continuous improvement within assigned manufacturing operation Coach and teach WPS tools and philosophies by assisting in the development of WPS plans for the Plant Teach the Problem Solving Approach with the 5-Why analysis Create, update, and follow a coaching plan to develop team leaders and facilitators Conduct and participate in frequent reflection activities with coaches, managers, team leaders, and students Perform training and development activities within Model areas Conduct WPS workshops/learning activities for employee groups Assist implementation of A3 targets set by department managers Support Kaizen activities throughout assigned manufacturing operation Create a work environment where employees are encouraged to take risks and share improvement ideas Evaluate new products or processes for appropriate lean application Take appropriate preventative actions to keep products and processes from potential issues Develop macro plan on how to move entire business unit ahead QualificationsWhat you'll need to know How to develop a root cause analysis that is validated through testing How to leverage Kaizen and lean processes to facilitate problem solving How to analyze for constraints and bottlenecks to achieve continuous flow How to analyze data and prepare reports to present to management and senior leadership How to motivate and engage team members across an organization during training and workshops How to document a Standardized Work Condition using standardized work forms, work balance chart, time observations, etc.
Who you are Someone with a 2-year or 4-year degree in a relevant discipline or 3-5 years of Toyota Production Systems (TPS) experience Someone with excellent interpersonal and communication skills Someone who can identify the seven forms of waste, overburden, unevenness and fluctuation Someone who can explain the Four Philosophies of WPS, True North, WPS tools, and how all of these are related Someone with proven ability to plan, develop, and deliver presentations and training Someone with experience documenting Kaizen (Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA), scientific method) Someone with demonstrated ability to teach others, build effective relationships, be flexible and implement change effectively Someone who exhibits a willingness to help others and eagerness to learn Wage and CompensationThis role can expect to earn $80,000 - $105,000 in annual salaryEssential Attributes of Watson Employees Insane curiosity Excited and enthusiastic about your work Embrace and exhibit our values Our Culture Monthly BBQ Espresso Bar Annual Bravo Night Onsite gym and showers Campus walking trail YMCA and Weight Watchers reimbursement Fun, challenging, and engaging culture Pride and satisfaction of manufacturing tangible products Our Benefits INSURANCE All employees and their dependents will have the ability to enroll in medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
If enrolled, benefits begin on the first day of the month following the 60th day of employment at Watson.
RETIREMENT Watson will match 50% of employees 401k contributions, up to 2.
5% of base annual salary.
All employees over the age of 21 will be automatically enrolled on the first day of the month following 6 months of employment.
You can opt out, decrease, or increase contribution at any time.
PAID TIME OFF Salaried employees do not have a cap on PTO usage.
However, we expect a reasonable amount to be a few weeks during your first year of employment.
PAID HOLIDAYS Watson is closed for 8 holidays every year and offers every employee an additional paid holiday to choose upon employment.
PROFIT SHARING Profit Sharing is how we reward the effort and commitment of our employees.
Generally, 25% of profits are allocated to the Profit Sharing Plan after the baseline profit level is met.
The overall profit sharing amount varies from year to year.
