The Cyber Range is a part of the Department of Computer Sciences, College of Science and Engineering. Currently the department offers a B.S. in Computer and Information Systems Security, an ABET-accredited Computer Science B.S. degree and an M.S. degree and has a strong history of research collaboration with other disciplines across campus such as Linguistics, Psychology, Biology, Chemistry and Environmental Sciences. Reflecting our department's commitment to diversity, the CS/M Scholars Program at WWU is focused on supporting women and underrepresented minorities. The program is funded by a $1,000,000 grant from the National Science Foundation. We are also an Academic Alliance member of the National Center for Women in Information Technology (NCWIT) and are part of NCWIT's Pacesetters program.
About the Position
As our Cyber Range Master you will be responsible for the management of the Poulsbo Cyber Range as a specialized computer laboratory, for coordinating the developing, scheduling, and management of Cyber Range exercises with instructors of classes using the Cyber Range, and for coordinating industry activities involved with Cyber Range. You will be responsible for supervising Cyber Range technical staff and academic liaisons, as well as other duties, as assigned.
The State of Washington and WWU have devoted increasing funds over the past few years to Cyber Security programs because of increased student interest and tremendous state need. Cyber Range Poulsbo is a growing facility that supports Cyber Security programs from WWU in Bellingham and Poulsbo as well as up to 30 other programs at colleges and universities throughout the State of Washington. The Cyber Range also supports research for government entities and companies. The facility is based and the position will be located at the Western on the Peninsulas facility in Poulsbo, Washington, co-located with the Olympic College Poulsbo campus.
Your responsibilities include:
+ Supervising the installation, management, scheduling and maintenance of Cyber Range computers, networking equipment, and other devices and software systems
+ Making decisions regarding the operations of the Range, including establishing priorities for the Range, determining the appropriate support needed for Range exercises and projects, the appropriate allocation of Range resources, and selecting which projects will receive Range support
+ Coordinating with instructors and other from WWU and other universities and colleges on the development of laboratory exercises and other academic exercises supported on the Cyber Range
+ Supporting research efforts on the Cyber Range
+ Developing relationships with industry and coordinating the incorporation of provided hardware and software into Cyber Range exercises, research projects, and other academic efforts
+ Supporting the design of exercises and projects for the Cyber Range and guiding others who will be designing exercises and projects by providing input on the capabilities of the range, as well as recommendations as to how to develop or structure the exercise or project and how to deploy the Range
Required Qualifications
+ BS in Cyber Security, Computer Science or related field
+ Five years technical experience including experience in installing and maintaining hardware including networking equipment and servers with varying operating systems
+ Experience supervising technical employees
+ Demonstrated ability to create technical documentation
+ Experience with Cyber Security
+ Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
+ Ability to work well in an environment with a broad variety of people of diverse backgrounds
+ Ability to create and manage relationships with key industry members
Preferred Qualifications
+ MS or Ph.D. in Cyber Security, Computer Science or related field
+ Experience in managing a data center or laboratory
+ Experience teaching in higher education
+ Experience and reputation as a public speaker
+ Extensive experience in Cyber Security
+ Extensive experience in Cloud operation
Commensurate with experience and qualifications

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
